• Slow & Strong Yoga - Saturdays 10:15-11:30a.m.

Saturday mornings we come together to practice hatha yoga influenced by Pilates and bodyweight strength training practices. We will focus on just a few core yoga postures in each class, moving through sequences to open and strengthen the body in preparation for the poses.

It is a very accessible form of yoga, and modifications will be offered for most fitness levels and ages. Participants must be able to get up and down from the ground. Recommended props include:

    • yoga mat

    • yoga strap or resistance band

    • small blanket

    • soft foam yoga block

  • Mid Week Yin Yoga - Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:45 p.m.

Wednesday evenings we slow things down for a yin yoga practice. Yin yoga follows three principles:

    1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth.

    2. Resolve to remain still.

    3. Hold the pose for time.

To facilitate the longer holds of the yin postures, generally 3-4 minutes in each posture, I recommend you bring along some props. Bolsters or pillows, foam or wood blocks, and blankets are all helpful.

  • Gentle Yoga Thorsby - Wednesdays 10:00 -11:30 a.m.

Join me Wednesday morning for a class that will help improve your strength and mobility through gentle movement. You will move through a variety of postures accessible to all fitness levels. Chair options will be available. This class is scheduled in the dance studio but will be moved to the fieldhouse if any participants have difficulty using the stairs.

Some props are available, but if possible please bring the following:

    • yoga mat

    • yoga strap (a scarf, tie or bathrobe belt works well too)

    • small blanket ( for extra padding under your knees)

    • soft foam yoga block and a firm yoga brick (2 of each is great!)

  • Beer & Blues Yoga - Men Only! Saturday June 22 2:00 p.m.

This will be a fun class for men whether you have never been to a yoga class before or if you have been to many. We will spend an hour moving our bodies through a range of motions to a blues soundtrack to help improve your overall mobility. And of course, consuming a beer as part of the postures. It will be a light hearted class, but I hope you will notice the difference in your body at the end. (Did you know practicing yoga regularly can help to improve your golf game?)

This will be accessible to men of all ages and fitness levels - modifications will be offered throughout the class. Participants must be able to get down to the ground and back up again. Some props will be available, but if possible please bring:

    • a yoga mat

    • a small blanket or large towel

Beer from Familia Brewing and Partake for those who prefer a non-alcoholic option.
